WELCOME HOME, RAVENS!
We’re excited to have you join our vibrant campus community! Below you’ll find important
information about move-in dates, times, and housing assignments for the upcoming academic
year.
Housing Assignments for First-Year Students
First-year students who submit their housing application by the priority deadline of July 1 will receive their housing assignments via their FPU email in mid-July, prior to STEP Days. Be sure to check your email regularly!
Fall 2026 Move-in Dates & Times
We’re thrilled to welcome our Ravens back to campus this fall! Below you’ll find the
detailed move-in schedule for first-year, transfer, international, returning, and graduate students (including student
athlete and student leader move-ins!). Please read carefully and note your assigned date and time once you receive your
housing assignment. If you’re an incoming first year student, your residence hall
building and floor location determines your move in time.
Why move in times? This helps us pace move-in, ensure we have appropriate volunteers in our move-in
crew, helps manage delays or long waits, and helps us better support you. Requests
to arrive early are rarely approved to ensure we can meet your needs and give you
the warm welcome you deserve.

Housing Assignments & Move-In Communication
Incoming first year and transfer students who complete their housing application by
the priority deadline of July 1 will receive their housing assignment and move-in details via their FPU email in mid-July. If you complete your application after that time, we send updates on a rolling basis
up until move-in week.
Move-in reminders and instructions are sent to all students—first-year, transfer, international, returning, and graduate—via your FPU email. Be sure to check your FPU inbox regularly throughout mid-July and early August for updates.
FIRST YEAR STUDENT MOVE-IN DETAILS
- Enter campus through the main entrance and follow all posted traffic flow signage. Staff and volunteers will be stationed to help direct you.
- Upon arrival at your assigned residence hall, one person must remain with the vehicle while our new student is escorted into their hall and checked in by our volunteers. We will help carry, unload, and get items to your room!
- The driver will then be directed to a designated parking area. Don’t worry—we provide shuttle transportation back to the first-year residence halls from the parking zones.
- You’ll have 10 minutes or so to unload belongings, with a lot of help from our volunteer move-in crew including staff and students from across the University.
- Please clearly label all items, boxes, bags, and suitcases with your student’s name and room number (e.g., “John Smith, Mount Washington 221”).
- More detailed information will be emailed to you directly about your Fall housing assignment, your move-in time, and so much more! Check your email in mid-late July and early August.
- Follow us on Instagram @studentaffairs_fpu and tag us during move-in to be featured in our story.
At ĢƵ, it is the responsibility of our students to coordinate their travel plans to align with their assigned move-in dates. Early arrival requests are limited and granted only to students who meet specific eligibility requirements.
We have an available for submission. Requests will begin to be reviewed in early July and on a rolling basis through August.
Important: Students must receive approval and notification before planning to arrive early.
Please avoid purchasing plane tickets, train or bus tickets, or having friends or family take time off work until you have received confirmation. Early arrivals are rarely approved outside of the above circumstances, as our team is focused on preparing residence halls, ensuring your room keys are ready, and coordinating volunteers to provide a smooth move-in experience for all students. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation.
